Time-saving tools that I use every day in my business

Following on from my previous blog article about how to create gorgeous graphics, I thought that I’d share some of my favourite time-saving tools with you!

As a busy working mum, I need to use my time as effectively as I possibly can, and these little gems help me to do just that!

HOOTSUITE

In my humble opinion, this is the best social media scheduling and reporting tool out there – unless you have a huge budget to play with! I’ve dabbled with several other options and I always come back to Hootsuite. I find the interface really easy to use, I can keep track of multiple social media accounts and the reporting tools are perfect for creating reports for my clients. I use the Pro plan but there’s a free plan available too, as well as a more heavyweight option.

DROPBOX

Quite frankly, I would be lost without Dropbox! I can easily and securely share files with my clients, and access them from both my computer and phone. I love the fact that my clients and I can edit documents without emails pinging backward and forward! Plus, when a file has been edited in a shared folder, you’re notified immediately. Simple and straightforward!

SAGE ONE

With Sage One, you can customise you invoices, keep track of cash flow and also create estimates. It’s a fantastic and relatively inexpensive alternative to the good old spreadsheet!

TOGGL

I just love Toggl! It’s so easy to use and allows me to accurately track the time that I’m spending on my clients’ accounts, ensuring that my admin clients only ever pay for the amount of time that I’m working on their projects!

MAILCHIMP

Whist it’s not something that I use every day in my business, MailChimp certainly deserves a mention in this list of time-saving tools. If you’re looking to start sending out email newsletters, I highly recommend MailChimp. It’s so easy to set up and use, and I love the cheeky chimp interface!
